Folks looking for an eclectic mix of art, culture, and a good time know that the Drake Hotel has it all. Part art gallery, part boutique hotel, this hot spot is ideal for a poetry reading that can transform into a rocking after party with a favourite DJ or [...]
It gets pretty wild in the bar,” says the hostess with concern, “ maybe I should escort you through.” Could a slight twenty-something girl protect me from a wild bar? [...]
Love the Drake for the partys and shows they host. The underground is a great place to see a local or international indie band. It's small enough to have that intimate feeling but not too restricted where you feel crowded. Upstairs has more to offer along the lines of food and converstaion. If you are looking for a best bet good time on the weekend this is always on the table as a good option.
this place is way over hyped - i prefer the gladstone down the street - i just don't like pretentious people that hang out at these places...however i do give credit to them for furthuring the arts and having academic stuff going on and not just bar head frivolities....
The Drake is a beast of many faces. One's experience here can vary drastically from one Friday to the next. The Lounge and upper patio can often be full of squares, who act all stiff and unattractive. The Underground, however, often hosts very interesting international acts and DJs, and I usually can rely on it for an exciting night out. It's a standby, particularly when the D-Money promotions is running the show.
905'ers flock down here all the time waving their money. i just basically ignore them and chill out with my friends on the roof top patio. the food is actually pretty good. the chef (forgot his name) knows how to do his job
The Drake is a great night club/ bar/ hotel. I hosted a stagette here a few years ago. The boutique hotel is gorgeous, retro, sophisticated and fun!
The patio is amazing and fun, they usually have a movie playing on the brick wall. I haven't eaten here but I've heard good things. There is a main floor bar and a few downstairs with music. It would be hard to believe that there isn't something here for everyone from 19-45!
