Keg Steak House & Bar (The) - Recent Reviews
Consistently good food, cool atmosphere
The Keg is the “safe” steakhouse. You always know that the food will be good and decently priced. I had the Fillet Minion ($28.95) while my company had the Sirloin and Crab pate ($31.95) We started off the evening with the Crab dip ($7.95) and Goat Cheese / bruchetta platter ($6.95). To drink we shared a bottle of Barolo ($64) and ended on a few martinis ($11.45 for Grey Goose). My steak was cooked to perfection (med. Rare) although one of the sirloins that should have been medium did come to us quite rare. Service was friendly, and the atmosphere within the Keg’s Down Town location is warm and modern with seating put together in such a way that you always feel like you have your own private space. Expect a wait if you show up at 7:00 or 8:00, so reserve ahead of time if possible, otherwise you can squeeze in at the bar and enjoy a drink while you wait to be paged (you will be given a vibrating / flashing pager). I eat here at least once a month and I’m always satisfied.
