Kalawsky Pontiac Buick GMC (1989) Ltd

I recently had car troubles in castlegar on a busy thanksgiving weekend and Kawalskys' shop happened to be the only garage with a time slot available to get the work done without having to wait till the next day. Since I needed to be to work the next day I had no other choice... I think I soon found out why they weren't as busy as the other garages. They over charged me by more than $100! Now the work I had them do on my car I easily could have done myself in a 1/2 hour if I had access to my own shop and tools, but being on the road 600Km away from home this was impossible, so I turned my car over to them and waited for them to get it into the garage and fixed. While waiting I went for a walk, had some lunch and came back to find that they charged me for an hour and a half of labour! At a rate of $95/hour plus tax I wasn't very happy. The sad thing is, is the fact that they probably did it in half an hour as well, but Mr Asshat at the desk figures they can charge 1.5 simply because he says the labour book quotes 1.8 hours so I must actually be getting a deal. Funny thing is though that when I ask to see the time quote in the book for myself he can't find it! And one last thing, they so kindly give my car a half-assed wash job, even when it didn't need one nor did I ask for it, which I'm sure is just another way for them to rationalize the "extra" labour time. DON'T EVER TAKE YOUR CAR TO KALAWSKY unless you like to donate money to scam artists!
